Our History

The idea for the Telephone of the Wind began as a quiet response to overwhelming grief. Inspired by a similar project in Japan, our first installation was created in a small community park where people could speak words they never had the chance to say. What started as a single symbolic phone quickly became something much larger — a way for individuals and families to find peace, connection, and healing through spoken memory.

Over time, word spread, and communities across North America began reaching out to bring a Telephone of the Wind to their own public spaces. Each installation is unique, often dedicated to a loved one and supported by local volunteers, nonprofits, and those who have experienced loss firsthand. Today, the project continues to grow — one voice, one memory, and one call at a time.
